Halim El-Dabh – Wire Recorder Piece

The first ever remix, even before Bill Burroughs’ remix novel. Now for real, this is apparently the first piece of music made by pasting together recordings and manipulating them. The recordings were from a egyptian spiritual ceremony, as it shows. Very interesting stuff. via boing boing.

remembering maximal techno. I’d really like to see this guy live, although I have no Idea what sound he has now! Pretty sure it’s still my favorite techno song, up there with Chemical Brother’s Boxer and Harder, Stronger, Faster by Daft Punk.

Four Tet – Locked

3 Aug

New Four Tet song. Via Pitchfork. It’s apparently from a tribute to the London Club Fabric. I’ve been there actually, not all that. Though I don’t remember it that well, maybe Rick or Caio do.

UPDATE: Hell, you can always trust Four Tet, right?
